DX-Ball is a 'breakout' game based on the popular Amiga game Megaball by Ed and Al Mackey. It attempts to take the best aspects of Megaball and mixes them with a few fresh ideas. A great deal of effort went into the game's "Amiga" look-and-feel.
This is very similiar to most versions of 'breakout', or 'arkanoid' as it was sometimes called, except with extra options and a slick interface. The game feels complete and is great fun to play, even if you are too young to remember the originals on the Amiga and Spectrum among others.
The game has a very Amiga type feel, but still manages to hold it's head in the PC market. This game sets a great standard for all freeware games, a solid game based on an already successful formulae with good extra original features.
