Real life never stops, and if you take too much time debating over something somebody else might make up their mind quicker and grab the opportunity from under your nose. It is the same in football : Often a player comes available or a young prospect comes into the frame, but the team which normally gets him is the one who notices his value first!
Tactical Manager 2 attempts to base its interpretation of the football scene using this outlook. The game never stops and players come available for transfer in real-time, meaning that you have to keep you're concentration at all times. This at first irritated me as no other management game uses this style and it was difficult to accustom to.
Also, the menu system is very complicated and although there are many options to do all the regular actions as well as some extra neat actions, it all took along time to find. The buttons seemed to be in bizarre and often hidden places.
Having said all that, after playing for game for a while I started noticing how good it is. Were it no for the fact that I own new copies of both Championship Manager and Fifa Premier Manager, I probably would of played this game even more.
At the end of the day, this is the best free football manager game I have played, and although I found it hard to get into, once I got over that I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Just be prepared to go to the developer's website to download the extra graphics which make this game look complete as well as getting used to the game automatically saving itself in realtime, so like in real life - if you miss your chance then it might just be too late!
