The following information has been added to help with any problems you may come across. If however the
information you require is not here please either email me and I will help as much as
possible, and even add the question to this page if it is relevant.
I've made a game, can I host it on your site?
Send us an email with a description of the game and a link to either
more information or from where to download the game. Please do not
email game files directly to us they will be automatically deleted.
Why are the game downloads on another site called MediaFire?
Due to the popularity of the site our server could not take the bandwidth.
However MediaFire provide file hosting capabilities where we keep our own copies
of each download so you know that they are safe and only uploaded by us.
How can I get Championship Manager (or another DOS game) to work?
I am sorry but DOS games are not particularly well supported in Windows XP.
This means that you may have trouble running a small selection of games on the
site, although over 95% of games on this site are designed to run in Windows 95+.
However all games on this site have been run successfully on a test Windows XP
machine, however those with little PC knowledge may find it difficult to
replicate these results.
Where do I get the games from?
They are in the Games section. Select your favourite genre on the left
then pick a game out of the list. If you like the screenshots and the
review sounds good then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on
the download link. When prompted save the game to your desktop.
I've downloaded a game, but how do I play it?
All files that you download are zipped up. This is a way to compress
the data to keep download times to a minimum. It does however mean that
you have to have an unzipping tool on your computer. Windows XP has one
already built in, but the most commonly used third-party
version is Winzip. Download it here
for free. Once it is downloaded double-click it to install.
I've got a copy of Winzip, now what do I do?
You need to unzip the files. This is done by loading up the downloaded
game. Now press the button called Extract. Make sure the checkbox
called Use folder names is selected, then enter the folder name
you wish to install the software in, eg. c:\games\happy for Happyland
Adventures. Once you get the game running you can delete this zip file.
I've unzipped everything, but how do I start playing?
Open up the folder and double click on the exe file to load the game.
One of two things will happen, firstly the game might start - in this
case, play! Else it may come up with an install screen, in which case
you should
follow the prompts and install the game in the manner it leads you through.
NB. Do not install into the same
folder, as this may cause it to not work properly.
How do I set up and play the game?
Most games carry a readme file. Load this file up and give it
a read, it will normally explain the storyline, and controls and how
to prepare the settings. Have fun!
I have another question, who can help me?
If the above has not helped you enough then please send an email to gosfish@hotmail.com
and as much help as possible will be sent. However please remember, apart from
the Gosfish Original games, we do not directly support any of the games nor
do we take responsibility for you damaging the set up of your PC from
downloading and installing the games found on this site.
